Short-Term Missions that are life changing!
New Vision Community Church of Laredo, TX is a mission-based church with a large presence in the Laredo border community. Our outreach footprint is so large, that we depend highly on short-term mission help from groups to keep many of our ministries and projects going. If you are interested in doing a short-term mission for your youth group, Bible-study group, family, co-workers, etc….consider working with New Vision in Laredo.
What will your team do during their short-term mission?
We can customize your trip depending on the needs and skills of your group. Possible projects include: Construction projects, farming projects, community projects, with at least one day of service project for the community and/or working in the food bank. Each team is expected to work full days and much of the work will be labor intensive, but immensely satisfying.
Construction Projects: These may involve building structures within the New Vision En Gedi Ranch which provides training in farming and husbandry to the local community. It may also involve helping a family in need and assisting in construction needs for their homes.
Farming Projects: New Vision has a working ranch/farm and teams focused on this area will help prepare areas for planting and/or harvest mature produce.
Community Projects: In these projects, teams will serve the local community in various ways to include distributing food items to poor families and/ or the elderly. This work will also require sorting, packing, and pre-staging food items for distribution.
Where will your team stay?
We have a mission house in Laredo, TX where your team will be able to stay. The accomodations are comfortable and modern, but individuals will need to share rooms. Each room has bunkbeds with linens. A walking path around a small lake can be accessed from the mission house and there is a community park with a pool a few blocks away.
How much will it cost?
Each team will need to cover their own airfare and book their own flights. We do ask for a donation to cover housing, food, and materials for the various projects. The suggested donation will vary depending on the size of the group and the kind of project they choose. Please contact us directly via our contact page or call us at (956) 712-0655.
